About a year ago, Michelle and Tyler moved into an apartment in Portsmouth. They looked for an apartment for a while. Location was the main factor as it needed to be central to where they both worked. So they found this 1 bedroom basement apartment in a complex in Portsmouth . Shortly after moving in, Michelle tells me pets are allowed so she and Ty are going to get a dog! They went to the humane society looking for a trained older dog, not a puppy. They found Lucky/or Lucky found them. He's a mutt of some sort. Maybe golden retriever, maybe husky. He couldn't be Shepard per the rules, so although he has a Shepard face, we dismissed that possibility. So what kind of dog is he? We declared he's a Good Dog.
Mich and Ty set up a schedule for feeding and walking him. They took him to the vet, bought him a bed and toys, and they were good little dog parents. They brought him to our house and he and honeyBee learned to get along. He loved playing in our fenced in yard, and Chris fell in absolute love with him too!
The dog suffered from severe separation anxiety. In just a few short months, he chewed up the rug, a door frame, their bathroom and more. He howled and barked when they went to work. They tried everything from music to a thunder vest to calm him. Nothing worked. A neighbor complained. There were only a few solutions left: sedate him heavily while they were at work, Or bring him back to the shelter. But there was still one remaining option....Guess where Lucky lives now!
