Doors and Plateaues

When one door closes, another door opens.

Hubby acquired a 1970 SS Chevy Chevelle in 2000. It was red with a black stripe down the hood. I called it the red car. It was his midlife crisis car. I became a "classic car widow". I did not mind. Driving it brought him so much joy. It was not a trailer queen. He took it out on short trips just to recharge his energy. He took it to car shows, both all day events or evening park and show events. It would turn any day into a good day. He did most all of the work on it himself. Sometimes, he needed a little help from his friends. He developed a few tight friendships due to this car also. Running in a circle of like minded people has its own rewards.
Well, it was time to sell it and move along to the next thing. Honestly, we needed the money so it was time to cash in this investment. It also was becoming a bit of a beast of burden as something always seemed to be breaking.
So he found a 1973 Montego. He is now furiously working to get it to classic car level so that he can once again have a sweet ride. Such joy in the simple things.
All this while I seem to have plateaued in my most recent MS debacle. Hopefully, my new medication plan will maintain for a while. Funny how I don't count the losses anymore. I'm just grateful that I can get a foothold and hold on tight, just praying for time before the next roller coaster ride.
And that's what is starting this week today here in my Shalom Babayit.
